Great Job SMEA Team and Project Team Leaders!

by Anicia E. Monton Inspite of the COVID-19 pandemic, the SMEA Team spearheaded with Mrs. Loida L. Rongcales, school focal person and her team conducted the final monitoring & evaluation of the three School Projects for SY 2020 – 2021 last July 19, 2021. The Project team Leaders and members confided on the following projects; Project: Share All Possible Opportunities for Learners (SAPOL) under access headed by Mrs. Jema Fe E. Crave; Project: Learn, Engage, Achieve Reading and Numeracy Skills (LEARNS) headed by Mrs. Renelyn T. Pinapit and Project: Facilities Improvement for Safety, Healthy and Protective School (FISHProS) headed by Mr. Ryan E. Balaoro. All the project team Leaders unveiled the different interventions they conducted to address gaps in all projects with all the means of verification (MOV’s). A 5-Slide deck powerpoint presentation will be prepared by the SMEA team for the DMEA validation to follow.

RVES remains COVID – Free

by Anicia E. Monton Since 2020 the start of COVID-19 Pandemic, Rivera Village Elementary School remains a COVID-19 free school. The school launched this project, “Malinis at Protektadong Paaralan ng RVES, Iwas COVID-19.” spearheaded by Mrs. Anicia E. Monton, the School Principal. The project was enjoined by all non-teaching personnel who were reporting to school to minimize the spread of the virus. Some of the activities done were the following: 1) Regular disinfection of the Schools; 2) Temperature checking; 3) Regularly hand wash and Sanitizing; 4) provision of alcohol dispensers in the wash area, comfort rooms and offices; 5) Conduct of webinars & Seminars to Non-Teaching personnel; 6) Wearing of face mask / face shields and PPE’s during distribution and retrieval of modules; and 7) Daily Log Inbound and Outbound persons for contact tracing. This project achieved a positive result in minimizing the spread of the virus.

School Pantry Inilunsad ng RVES

Monton Bilang tulong sa mga mag-aaral na lubos na naapektuhan ng COVID-19, and Rivera Village Elementary School ay naglunsad ng proyektong “RVES School Pantry, Handog sa Mag-aaral V.2.0” noong May 03-05 at May 10, 2021. Ang proyektong ito ay pinangunahan ni G. Joffrey P. Quinsayas, Pangulo ng Samahan ng Pamunuan ng mga Guro, G. Edwin R. Amolo, pangulo ng Samahan ng mga Magulang at Guro at Giovhana Gracia Aladen, Pangulo ng Supreme Pupil Government. Layunin din ng proyekto na mabuo ang ugnayang pagtutulungan ng mga samahang ito at ng maging ang buong komunidad. Nagkaroon ng pagpili ng mga mag-aaral mula sa Kindergarten hanggang Ikaanim na baitang na binubuo ng 100 beneficiaries na mga magulang ang kumuha. Iba’t ibang mga pagkain (delata, bigas, mga gulay, kape, noodle at iba pa), mga face mask at face shields. Nakalikom ang pamunuan ng Php 14,800.00 na cash na ibinili ang iba pang idinagdag sa mga donasyong pagkain. Ang proyektong ito ay naiulat din sa dyaryo ng Pilipino Star at Telebisyon sa Balita ng DZRH.

RVES SPG Officers Oath-taking Ceremony

Rivera Village Elementary School believes in having a leader is essential that’s why the school has Student Pupil Government. Even amid the pandemic and the new normal way it didn’t stop the school to have a new set of student leaders that will help to uphold all the mission and vision of the school. Last October 15, 2021, Friday at 2:00 in the afternoon at the conference room of Rivera Village Elementary School held the SPG oath-taking Ceremony led by Mrs.Maria Victoria Q. Capua School SPG Teacher Adviser. The program started with the preliminary activities which are Opening prayer to be followed by the singing of the Philippine National Anthem then the Pasay Hymn lastly the RVES Hymn thru video presentation. Mrs. Normalyn H. Miguel as the appointing officer initiated the oath-taking ceremony. Carl Jaeron Z. Valmeo SPG delivered the very first presidential speech, he also presented the new set of officers. And to sum up the event the School SPG teacher adviser Mrs. Maria Victoria Q. Capua delivered her closing remarks. The success of the said event was none without that day Master of Ceremony Mrs. Renelyn T. Pinapit. Just like what Spiderman said, “With great power comes great responsibility” may this new set of Student pupil government of RVES uphold their responsibility and use the power they have for the benefit of their classmates and specially for our dear school Rivera Village Elementary School. RCMNe HELD INDUCTION AT RVES

by Paul Vinzyl Ditalo It is a yearly event of the Rotary Club of Makati Northeast to hold an induction for the installation of the new set of officers including the board of directors and this rotary year, the club held its induction at Rivera Village Elementary School last June 23, 2021. The occasion was graced by dignitaries from the Rotary International District 3830 Philippines. Present were District Governor Joji Tan, District Governor-Elect Mildred Vitangcol and Assistant Governor Ana Santos. The Governor’s Aide, PP Joy Kuffel attended the event too. The induction started with an opening lines from the Charter President of RCMNe, Councilor Allan Panaligan and histed by his spouse Jenny Panaligan. The charging of club officers and board of directors were done by the District Governor-Elect Mildred Vitangcol and immediately followed by the oath of office of the District Governor, Dr. Joji Tan. The new leadership month will keep on promoting Rotary’s maxim of “Service Above Self,” by continuing all the programs and projects of the club and serving the community people in this life-changing rotary year. Rotary Club of Makati Northeast on its prime purpose to serve the less fortunate and the Rotary Community Corps in cooperation with other clubs and private entities who share the same values in serving the people.

RVES SIGNED PARTNERSHIP WITH RCMNE

by Paul Vinzyl Ditalo Rivera Village Elementary School signed it’s partnership with Rotary Club of Makati Northeast (RCMNe) last June 23, 2021 to continue the programs and projects in the school.The school principal herself, Mrs. Anicia E. Monton signed the MOA with the Club President Paul Ditalo for the continuity of agreement and forging a new undertaking in school dubbed as “Happy Teeth, Winner Smile” project. The said project is a brush and wash station to be installed and constructed bind with this consensus. The signing of the memorandum of agreement was attended by the governor of District 3830, Dr. Jocelyn L. Tan, Club President Paul Ditalo, the school principal Mrs. Anicia E. Monton and personally witnessed by the charter president of RCMNe, Councilor Allan Panaligan with spouse Jenny Panaligan, Assistant Governor Ana Santos of Cluster G, Immediate Past President Christi Aldave, Past President Dona Ado and the RVES Faculty Club President Joffrey P. Quinsayas. Rotary Club of Makati Northeast will continue its purpose of extending programs and projects that will help students in elevating the learning performance and improve school facilities by making such brush and wash in school. RCMNe promise to continue doing volunteerism and widen its prime responsibility to connect with schools and come up with programs and projects. Rivera Village Elementary School will continue connecting to potential stakeholders that will support and provide meaningful projects and programs benefiting the school children. RVES on the delivery of better education will keep on promoting the department’s thrust of providing quality, free and accessible education for all.

GOLDEN ANNIVERSARY OF RVES DURING PANDEMIC

Claudio; Mayor of Pasay City, 1970.It had three grade levels, grade one to three. Celebrating the fact that RVES has been in existence for 50 years is a wonderful time to get the community involved or yet another time. We should have planned for a celebration.Due to pandemic that we are facing right now, hesitations struck down.Frightened to get involved in the celebration. But still collaboration of brains and efforts are still there. With regards to school projects that ourdiligent and dedicated principal, Mam Anicia E. Monton’s headship and involvement together with the teachers, parents, stakeholders, and other staff of RVES we were able to complete and uphold different school projects such as; Mini Herbarium, School Grotto, PWD Pavement, Go-Green, Classroom beautification contest and many other In progress projects. RVES BRIGADA ESKWELA 2021

by Marissa C. Montehermoso Rivera Village Elementary School strongly supports every program of the Department of Education. One of it is the implementation of BRIGADA ESKWELA 2021. It promotes unity and social mobilization among stakeholders to support the school in attaining and sustaining all its project for the betterment of the quality of service it could offer. While everyone is busy preparing the physical attributes of the facilities of the school, one area to be taken care of is the readiness of the teaching force. To ensure quality of instructions, teachers were being prepared by conducting a weeklong webinar as part of the BRIGADA ESKWELA 2021. It started from September 6-10, 2021. This webinar was actively attended by the 46 energetic teachers of RVES. Livelihood Program, was attended by both parents, learners and teachers.Ms. Bianca Camille San Pedro demonstrated in her talk on how to do Tshirt printing as a small business. Another equally important topic about Promoting Family Earthquake Preparedness for Pupils was presented and discussed by Mr. Paul Vinzyl Ditalo. He presented some guides on what to prepare and how to react before, during and after earthquake. Aside from the pandemic we are facing, natural calamities must be address equally important as it also brings threat among humans. Mr. Joselito Turbanada presented the DRRM (Disaster Risk reduction Management) Organizational Chart Duties and Responsibilities. To enlighten the community regarding the command responsibility in terms of urgency in the community. Dr Renelyn T. Pinapit presented some strategies on how to teach reading in distance learning. She showed a model on the process of conducting teaching reading especially for those strugglinglearners who have difficulty in reading. In connection to this Ma’am Anicia E. Monton presented the school project of Grade 1 teachers the project R.E.A.D. (Reading Enhance to Address Difficulties) alignment to BE Pagbasa. The target of this project is to help struggling learners in reading. To ensure the psychological state of every teacher is healthy, webinar on Stress management for teachers was conducted. With the speaker Ms.Josie B. Lapid a guidance teacher, RVES teachers were able to refresh andinspired for the opening of classes after undergone a series of sharing their experiences their outlook in the current situation turns to positive one. Drawing near to the new opening of classes Ms Jane S. Caballeda one of the School ICT teacher patiently guide all the teachers in using the new division platform the used of TEAMS app. This new platform is new to all and to make sure that every teacher can follow she demonstrated as she navigates online the features of the said application as an avenue of new online classes. The Brigada Eskwela weeklong webinar was indeed productive with functional learning as teachers now ready to face the school 2021-2022 equipped with knowledge, dedication, determination and most of all confidence.

RVES joined Virtual 3rd Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED)

by Joselito P. Turbanada         Rivera Village Elementary School (RVES) joined the Virtual Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) that was conducted by the NDRRMC. This aims to enhance the preparedness of everyone through the regular conduct of drills. It seeks to educate the public on disaster preparedness against earthquake and test the contingency plans of every school. This quarter, there were 1,504 people who participated in this activity, including the teachers, non-teaching personnel, and students of RVES. Due to the deadly virus that was going around our country, the drill was conducted virtually last September 16, 2021 (Thursday) at 8:00 in the morning. Everyone performed the duck, cover, and hold upon hearing the loud siren that signaled the start of the drill. Students were guided by their parents on what to do during the activity. The drill lasted for about 3 minutes and 58 seconds. RVES strongly believes that being prepared is the best solution to avoid any accidents or unfortunate events during natural calamities. Knowing how to do the duck, cover, and hold increases your chance of surviving in case an earthquake happens.

RVES Celebrates World Teachers’ Day

As The whole world is celebrating, and everybody is never gotten tired of lamenting the greatness of every teacher they know. Rivera Village Elementary School, happily celebrated the National Teachers’ Day 2021 on October 8, 2021 with the theme: “Gurong Filipino Kaagapay sa Hamon, Kasama sa Pagbangon” through the leadership of Mrs Anicia E. Monton , the school principal and Mr. Joffrey P. Quinsayas, Master Teacher I/ Faculty President. This is to pay tribute to all the dedicated and hardworking teachers who never fail to deliver quality education amidst the global phenomenon caused by the COVID 19 pandemic. It was celebrated with limited face to face and virtually among the faculty members of the school. This one-day activity was emblazed with the support of the school GPTA officers as they lead the hosting of this inspiring event. They prepared raffle prizes and gifts for all teachers as an appreciation for their tireless efforts through out the year. Learners extended their warm greetings to all their teachers in any social media platforms like Facebook, facebook messenger, tiktok, twitter and text messages. Despite the limitations brought by the ongoing pandemic, RVES was able to hold a simple yet unforgettable Teacher’s Day. This fun-filled day helped ease the busy days of all teachers for a while, as they were reminded how noble their work towards making a mankind. This celebration rekindles the passion in every teacher’s heart as they see the important role, they play in shaping up human race. Teaching is a very noble profession that shapes the character, caliber, and future of an individual. Hence, teacher continuously inspires students as role model, an influence that goes far beyond academic achievements. Teachers, we appreciate you. You don’t just teach- you prepare learners the road ahead as you make a huge impact in their lives. Happy World Teachers’ Day to all teachers around the globe!
